An alumnus of Coastline Community College, Koollos Phillips is a former record label owner who most recently served five years as a courier with Long Beach, California's Taxaccon. An avid sports fan, Koollos Phillips regularly attends Los Angeles Dodgers home games.
In its push to reach the Major League Baseball (MLB) playoffs, the Los Angeles Dodgers added a pair of prominent hitters and talented infielders in Manny Machado and Brian Dozier via trades. Los Angeles acquired Machado from the Baltimore Orioles on July 19 in exchange for highly-touted outfield prospect Yusniel Diaz as well as minor-league infielders Breyvic Valera and Rylan Bannon and right-handed pitchers Zach Pop and Dean Kremer.
On July 31, with minutes to spare before the non-waiver trade deadline, the Dodgers acquired second baseman Brian Dozier from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for Logan Forsythe and a pair of minor league prospects. Originally selected by the Twins in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft, Dozier has more home runs (96) than any other second baseman since the beginning of the 2016 season. He has four in his first 25 games with the Dodgers.
